Heavy Truck Service Manager


We require an EXPERIENCED Full-Time Heavy Truck Service Manager to join our dynamic team. If you take pride in a hard day’s work, in being adaptable, a problem solver, and a self-starter, we want you to be an integral part of The Surgenor Truck Group management team at our Kingston, Ontario location.

The potential candidate will work closely with our General Manager to contribute to the day to day operation of the dealership’s service department in compliance with established policies and procedures. This person will help plan, direct, lead and control all activities of the service department to ensure the overall growth and profit objectives are met. 

The Service Manager will need to maintain the highest quality standard of professionalism in serving the customer, working with our service team, and identifying all their needs.

Responsibilities:
· Assesses present and future needs, trends, problems and profit opportunities.

  • Work with the General Manager to take appropriate action as necessary.
  • Provide Administrative support to the department, ensuring work orders are closed in a timely manner
  • Review operational efficiency, and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Work toward reaching short and long term operating and financial objectives
  • Stay informed on new products and other general information of interest to customers that will assist in sales efforts
  • Maintain records and reports on all phases of service activities
  • Assist and coordinate efforts with outside parts and service sales personnel to achieve full market penetration
  • Keep General Manager informed of all pertinent service activities
  • Review Warranty Accounts Receivable and assist the Warranty Department in any way needed to expedite claim processing
  • Coordinate and oversee that training programs are properly conducted and maintained
  • Ensure safety and security of department staff, and assist with maintaining the appearance of the building and vehicle maintenance
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 Qualifications:

· Should possess a high school diploma

· A college degree or a certificate/degree from a trade school and a 310T license is preferred, but not required

· Minimum 5 years Service Management experience; heavy truck experience is a MUST

· Must have strong customer service skills

· Must have general computer knowledge

A valid driver’s license (with clear abstract) is a must

Heavy Truck Parts Specialist

Surgenor Truck Group operates a heavy truck dealership in Kingston, Ontario and immediately requires an experienced Heavy Truck Parts Specialist for full time employment.

If you are an enthusiastic, energetic, organized, dependable and customer-oriented individual with knowledge of heavy duty truck parts, this could be the role for you!

Duties & Responsibilities of Parts Counter Sales include:

  • Processing orders and requests for parts by providing accurate, courteous and professional service to telephone, electronic and over-the-counter customers
  • Preparing customer orders and handle product returns
  • Assisting Parts Manager in daily operations including maintaining inventory, stock levels and assisting on other duties
  • Processing payment transactions and handle cash on a daily basis

Preferred Education & Qualifications:

  • 2 years of applicable experience in a similar role a benefit
  • Knowledge of ADP/CDK software an asset
  • Excellent knowledge of heavy duty truck parts
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to use various computer programs
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment

General Manager

FULL TIME GENERAL MANAGER REQUIRED (Kingston, Ontario)

In Kingston, Ontario, the Surgenor Truck Group is searching for a full-time General Manager who will lead and guide the organization using our strategic planning and management frameworks to oversee our Kingston division effectively and efficiently. Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance of all Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) regulations, as well as the Company’s Health and Safety Policy.

  • Provide overall management and leadership for the Dealership including but not limited to employee motivation, training, and development.

  • Help establish and implement key performance metrics for the dealership which aligns with the Company’s Strategic Plan, management systems and financial objectives.

  • Achieve dealership profitability including monthly and annual budget objectives.

  • Further develop and improve Operational policies and procedures and ensure these policies and procedures are understood and followed by all Dealership personnel.

  • Conduct ongoing process improvement projects that will improve operational efficiencies, reduce cost, and improve customer experience.

  • Play a key role in recruiting, interviewing, and hiring employees.

  • Ensure all dealership employee performance appraisals are reviewed and completed in a timely manner.

  • Ensure that best practices are implemented within the operational departments at the Company’s dealership.

  • Ensure customer / vendor complaints and concerns are resolved accurately and in a timely manner.

  • Ensure all OEM training is completed in all departments for Service and Parts staff.

  • Ensure all OEM Program requirements are met and completed by due dates.

  • Promote and develop positive corporate culture both internally and externally.

  • Ensure the dealership is maintained to Surgenor’s standards.

  • Business travel is required.

  • Other duties and responsibilities as required.

Basic Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education: College or University Diploma/Degree preferred, but not required.

  • Minimum of 5 years management and operations experience: commercial truck dealership management is preferred.

  • Previous automotive or transportation experience preferred.

  • Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written).

  • Customer service experience coupled with a strong organizational and time management skillset.

  • Proficiency with computers, including a sound knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Valid driver’s license; insurability with the Company’s insurance carrier.
